Rione San Domenico

È il Rione esterno al centro storico propriamente detto del quale costituisce, in un certo senso, un avamposto meridionale, essendo quello più vicino al mare in linea d’aria.

Nel 1600 questo Rione era quasi esclusivamente costituito dalla chiesa e dal convento di San Domenico che con la sua costante opera di incitamento alla cultura ed all’arte, creò per i secoli a venire una delle più prestigiose bellezze della riviera di ponente.
