Rione Confrarie

Abbandonando l’Orso, in direzione nord, si accede alle Confrarie, uno dei rioini che, trovandosi nella parte bassa del centro storico, sono a contatto con la parte moderna della città.

Già dal 1279 la piazza delle Confrarie era la sede del mercato settimanale del sabato, ed anche punto di incontro della popolazione. Con la costruzione del palazzo Lercari divenne anche la stazione di posta per i viaggiatori, e quindi interessante centro commerciale.
